MyBlue FAQs

Is MyBlue available to all members?

MyBlue is available to most members, including students. However, MyBlue isn't available for members enrolled in the following plans:

  • Federal Employee Program (FEP)
  • Blue Benefit Administrators (BBA)
  • Ancillary-only coverage
  • Stand-alone Medicare Part D coverage
  • Stand-alone wellness coverage
  • Blue 20/20 vision coverage only

How do I register/create a MyBlue account?

  1. Click here(or click "Create a MyBlue account" above)and complete the required steps.
  2. If you prefer to register by using our mobile app, first download the MyBlue App fromthe Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  3. Verify your account by entering the last four digits of your Social Security number; your student ID number (if you're on a Student Blue plan); or by answering some security questions. Note: If you're a Medicare member, you can use your Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) located on your Medicare ID card to verify your account.

What information will I be asked to provide?

You'll need to enter your name, email address, birth date, Blue Cross Member ID number, and either the last four digits of your Social Security number, the answers to some security questions, a Student ID number (if on a Student Blue plan), or Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) located on your Medicare ID card.

What if I forgot my username or password?

You can reset your password by clicking "Forgot Password?" at the bottom of the app log-in or from the “sign in” page which you can access from the “sign in” button at the top of this page. You will be asked to provide an email address and your date of birth.

Do I need to enter my Social Security number (SSN) to register?

No. Members are no longer required to enter their entire SSN.

To register, you can either enter the last four digits of your Social Security number or answer security questions.

Medicare members can enter their Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) located on their Medicare ID card and students can enter their student ID number insteadof a SSN.

Does personal information get stored on my phone?

No. None of your personal information is stored on your phone. All information is encrypted and secured within a protected database.

Where can I find my Member ID number?

Your member ID number is a 9-digit number found on your Blue Cross Member ID card. When entering into MyBlue, enter only the numbers, not the letters preceding the number. Once you create a MyBlue account, you’ll have access to a digital version of your Member ID card whenever and wherever you need it. You can download your digital ID card to your phone or email a PDF of your card to your doctors.

Does MyBlue allow me to see the information for all the members covered on my plan?

Plan subscribers and their spouses can view their own information as well as information (including the ID card) for their dependents under the age of 18.

Subscribers and spouses can also view information (including the ID card) for dependents with certain disabilities.

Dependents 18 years and older can only view their own information and must set up their own MyBlue account.

Can I use MyBlue to search for doctors in my network?

Yes. Our Find a Doctor & Estimate Costs tool allows you to search for doctors, dentists, and hospitals anywhere in the nation using a ZIP code.

Do you have a MyBlue mobile app?

Yes. You can find the MyBlue mobile app in both the Apple App store and Google Play store. The MyBlue mobile app has the same helpful tools and information available through the logged in portion of our Blue Cross website.

What phones and operating systems are supported?

The MyBlue app is compatible with Android OS 8.1 and above and Apple iOS 13 and above.

Who can I contact if I have questions about MyBlue or the MyBlue mobile app?
